Friendly Friday: Comfort Food

This is my contribution to the Friendly Friday Photo Challenge: Comfort Food.

When thinking about the prompt the closest I could get to a comfort food for myself was British style Fish and Chips. I should explain that British style Fish and Chips bear little resemblance to what is sold as fish and chips in Canada.

So I decided to go with some colourful snacks. They are probably comfort food for some people but I photographed them for the colour.

Curve

I had put a pair of scissors down on the studio table with the studio lights still on and noticed the various curves and liked the orange handles against the black background so decided to take some shots.

This shot was taken with the 7artisans 35mm lens wide open at f/1.2 and is my contribution to the One Word Sunday challenge Curve.

Cee’s B & W Photo Challenge: Things Found in a Kitchen

This is my contribution to Cee’s Black and White Photo Challenge: Things Found in a Kitchen.

I had a few ideas for the challenge before thinking of salt and pepper. For a black and white photo challenge salt and pepper seemed an obvious choice.

Taken with the 7artisans 35mm f/1.2 lens wide open at f/1.2 and then heavily edited in Snapseed. I added film grain, some radial blur with a mild vignette centered around the black peppercorns and a Polaroid type border before doing the monochrome conversion where I added some more film grain.

CFFC: Books and Paper.

This is my contribution to Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Books and Paper.

I had no idea what I was going to do for this challenge. Then I used one of the bird identification apps on my tablet to check a range map for a species.

That made me think of the shelf full of field guides and bird family reference books that are currently stored on a shelf in a closet since our move.

I picked the Dark-eyed Junco because of my Throwback Thursday post this week.
