Reverse

One Word Sunday: Reverse

A section of High Street, Southampton reversed in a store window early yesterday morning. I was rather amused by the elderly gentleman stood in the street while appearing to be engrossed in his smartphone.

This is my contribution to Debbie’s One Word Sunday: Reverse prompt.

Drain the Colour

A couple of selective colour treatments for the Cosmic Photo Challenge: Drain the Colour prompt.

I thought the mood of the two images made them ideal for draining the colour.

Yellow Lines.

Yellow parking bay lines at an abandoned grocery store in the town of Wiarton on the South Bruce Peninsula, Ontario. The brightest part of this local eyesore is the yellow lines on the parking area.

Blue Banner.

A blue banner on High Street, Southampton, Ontario, Canada. A bright spot on a foggy morning.

Urban Erosion

This is my contribution to Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Urban Erosion prompt.

One subject came to mind as soon as I started considering the prompt.

This is the abandoned grocery store in the town of Wiarton on the South Bruce Peninsula, Ontario. It has been standing empty for years and has become one of the more impressive eyesores around town. The roof was leaking badly when it was still in use so the interior could easily be in worse shape than the exterior.

Plus Read.

This is my contribution to the One Word Sunday prompt Red or Read.

I had a couple of ideas for the challenge but kept coming back to this image. It’s the Dollar Store in the town of Wiarton on the South Bruce Peninsula, Ontario.

I do wonder if anyone ever reads the signs other than the Dollar Store sign.

A Local Eyesore

A contribution to Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: All about buildings: Commercial buildings or store fronts.

This is the former Foodland grocery store in the town of Wiarton on the South Bruce Peninsula, Ontario, Canada.

Photographed last autumn when it had been standing empty for a couple of years. It’s an even bigger eyesore at the moment as the parking lot is currently being used for storage by the construction crew ripping up the highway through the town.

Does Anyone Read All These Signs?

This is my contribution to Cee’s Black and White Photo Challenge: Store Front Signs.

On reading the prompt I thought of this dollar store in a local town. So many signs, one is standing, propped up against a store window. Presumably waiting to be hung up somewhere.
