The Ordinary Maple Leaf

This is my contribution to the Lens-Artists Photo Challenge: The Ordinary prompt.

I hadn’t given the prompt much thought when I went for a walk around the neighborhood last Sunday afternoon. I set out with a wide angle lens on the camera and a short telephoto in a pocket. I probably hadn’t walked 100 yards before deciding I had picked the wrong lens and swapped to the telephoto.

I should add that it’s very rare for me to take a second lens on one of my walks but I’m glad I did last Sunday. All the photos in this post are from that walk with the short telephoto on the camera.

One Word Sunday: Art

A fallen Maple leaf on a weathered limestone boulder on the South Bruce Peninsula, Ontario.

Not a selective colour treatment, the colour and tones are pretty much as they came out of the camera. I used Snapseed to add a vignette and lens blur around the edges of the frame to focus attention on the leaf.

“It’s All About The Light”

This week Tina gives us the theme It’s All About The Light for the Lens-Artists Photo Challenge. It’s a phrase that I have used when commenting on photos many times.

A small selection of photos taken on the South Bruce Peninsula, Ontario over the past months or so.

Here Comes the Sun

This is my contribution to Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Here Comes the Sun prompt.

Four recent sunrises reflected in Colpoy’s Bay on the South Bruce Peninsula, Ontario.

I had a couple of ideas for the challenge before deciding to go with recent photos. I’m trying to avoid my archives after realising that I hadn’t been posting a lot of my 2021 photos.
